Colored while watching the Star Wars Holiday Special. Attempted to use night colors without looking at any sort of reference? I think I did reasonably well.

...I have a lot of art I should scan in. Since I have all this free time before school starts again. Um.



Anyway, I've played through Mass Effect a few times. It's... frustrating. I like quite a bit of it, but then it disappoints me. Repeatedly. On every bloody world. The Mako can go directly to hell, and take the inventory management with it.

The stupid dialogue prompts also need to shape up, because it's frustrating when Shepard says something entirely unrelated to the bloody prompt. Or when every single option leads to the EXACT SAME LINE OF DIALOGUE.

Also random planets suck. Oh yay, another mountainous world with randomly placed crap that I have to drive the Mako over and experience such exciting moments as 1) the Mako doing random somersaults as it flips and falls down the randomly generated mountains 2) enemies spawning under you and one-shot killing you 3) getting stuck in deep holes 4) getting stuck and having enemies shoot at you as you desperately try to run away because heaven forbid you be allowed to heal the bloody Mako in actual COMBAT.

So yeah, story's good, characters are all right if a bit shallow and uninspired, story worlds are for the most part really well done and interesting. Combat's not terrible either, despite what I've heard said. I'm not too bad at combat! Vanguard and Sentinel were really easy to play through as, although I'm struggling a bit with my Adept playthrough (99% because I have been using assault rifles. Despite being untrained. Uh. I don't want to play as a Soldier just to unlock assault rifles. Soldiers are boring.)

Actually, I take back what I said about the characters. I dislike half of them, but it's not a strong dislike. It's apathy. Sacrifice Ashley or Kaiden? Pssh. Who cares. Heck, throw in Liara too. That way I can be even more apathetic on who to get rid of! Had it been someone who I liked, say, Wrex or Garrus or even Tali, I might have struggled. As it is, it's pretty much just hey, do I want the romance scene or not? And go from there.

Kaiden is not unpleasant, but he's incredibly BLAND. Also him sharing a voice actor with Carth constantly throws me. (On the plus side, he doesn't have any dead girlfriends/wives, which made me extremely happy. Thank you, Bioware. THANK YOU. That plot was getting a little old?) Liara manages to be incredibly creepy in everything she does, and Ash is, well, a racist. Sorry, but your arguments about how they are somehow lesser forms of life than humans can't really be taken any other way.

Wrex, Garrus, and Tali were all pretty awesome though. Wrex has interesting stories, Garrus is fun to manipulate, and Tali is absolutely adorable ♥

I dread my next playthrough because I've already gotten the achievements for having all of them in my party and now I have to use Ashley and Liara. Nooooooooooo!

Also, I ended up getting Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas. ANYONE WHO CAN PLAY ON HARD+ DIFFICULTY IS FREAKISHLY TALENTED. I can 5-star all Normal and Easy songs, but Hard is impossible. I got Harvest Moon: Magical Melody too, and learned that I suck at farming and should give up and go back to raising livestock or fishing. Games are not supposed to be difficult =__=
