Dec. 4th, 2008 11:23 pmI finished Breaking Dawn tonight.
Thank goodness that's over.
So, okay, I didn't really mind the first three books. They aren't the best books in the world, but I found them pretty fun. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I'd be afraid of them liking the books in a non-ironic way. But they made me laugh. I like the melodrama, and occasionally (usually when the werewolves are around) they're genuinely funny. Unfortunately, Bella's a horrible person, Edward's an abusive boyfriend, and everyone else in the books, including the two-dimensional villains, are more likable then them. But despite that, even Edward and Bella manage to be bearable characters.
And then along comes Renesmee. I hate children that are supposed to be oh-so-adorable and everyone loves them and is willing to give up everything to protect them. GAG. I barely got through the third part of Breaking Dawn because of that.
( Retrospective. )
By the end of the book, I still was occasionally hearing this (at 1:12) when anyone yelled Bella's name. Actually, watching that is more fun than I had reading Breaking Dawn. That Bella is certainly more likable than the Twilight one!
...Bella!
