"Mother Nature's Son" was the weirdest one for me. I was like, hey, it's that John Denver song! And then promptly realized that the John Denver version was the cover.
Abbey Road is my dad's favorite Beatles album - actually still has the record in the basement, though we don't have the equipment to play it any more. It's really good. Be sure to listen to it all in order, though. Putting the music player on shuffle breaks up the medley, and that just ruins it!
The high pitched noise is at about 5:06, right before the "Never could be any other way" loop starts. Apparently Lennon put it in to bother dogs, since most humans can't hear it! Sigh. It's probably because I didn't listen to a lot of music when I was younger, although you'd think that 7 years in band class would have still wrecked my eardrums.
