...99% MSPaint! (The 1% was making it a transparent gif in Jasc Animation Shop. I wanted it to blend in no matter what your journal looks like!).

And no, it didn't take me too terribly long. MSPaint has a lot of cool tricks to it. This thread at SA listed a lot of them I never knew! I was surprised to learn something actually useful over there!
