So, I decided to play some Twilight Princess today.
Okay, so I quit before just after entering the Goron Mines about... oh, a year or so ago. Quite frankly, I thought the game sucked. I hate monkeys, and the first dungeon was all about the damn things! And then I completely sucked at the Goron jumping... mini-game? that you had to do to get to the top of Death Mountain. I died several times, and just finished that part of the game out of sheer stubbornness. And then there was that stupid sumo wrestling crap!
Thankfully, the game seems to have improved immensely from that point.
The Goron Mines were really fun! I enjoyed walking on the walls - the electric magnets were really a cool idea. The Lakebed Temple was pretty awesome too, though I went through the entire dungeon without managing to kill a single one of those jellyfish. The Arbiter's Grounds were the best so far, though. I love the Spinner. So. Damn. Much. I keep abusing it at random intervals for no good reason. It's really more or less useless. SO MUCH FUN, THOUGH. (Also, whenever I fought against the Mini-Stalfos, I couldn't stop thinking about this. Every single time they showed up.)
Also, yay, Ganondorf is a part of this game! I'd wondered, since he hadn't been mentioned thus far. I was starting to think this was another Majora's Mask, with some random person as the main villain. Oh, by the way, Skull Kids can all pretty much just die. I liked the Majora's Mask one. I haven't met any others that make me want to see them again. Also, screw those ReDead Knights, those things can just GO AWAY AND NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. I HATE THEM. I HATE REDEADS, MAKE THEM GO AWAY FOREVER.
...at least they haven't forced me to fight those enormous spinning plant things. Er. Peahats? Yeah. Those things. Those were awful enemies. I was terrified when I saw those floating plant things in the Gerudo desert. Oh, and there have been no Floormaster/Wallmasters, too! Those were probably my absolute least favorite enemy. Ugh. Scary.
So, anyway, I've started to enjoy the game! I still think that Wind Waker is my absolute favorite Zelda game, with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask close behind. I definitely like this game better than the various handheld games I've picked up (with the possible exception of Phantom Hourglass, as I'm only about an hour into it and have no real opinions of so far.) It's kind of heavy on the serious and light on the humor, which is probably why I can't entirely love the game.
...I just realized I don't remember what I renamed my horse. Is there any way to find that out? I don't remember anyone even mentioning my horse's name.
